Car Boot Scout ("we", "us") is a UK-based sole trader business. This page explains what personal data we collect, why, and what your rights are.

What we collect

Account details: your email address and password, when you sign up.
Photos and descriptions: whatever you submit for an appraisal. These are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a value estimate and listing, and are not stored or used for anything beyond producing your result.
Appraisal history: if you're on a paid plan, we keep a record of your past appraisals (item name, value, marketplace, listing text) so you can view them again.
Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details ourselves.
Basic site analytics: anonymous, cookieless visit statistics via Cloudflare Web Analytics — we can't identify individual visitors from this.

Why we collect it

Solely to provide the service: creating your account, generating appraisals, tracking your usage against your plan, and processing payments for paid plans.

Who we share it with

Only the providers needed to run the service: Anthropic (AI processing), Supabase (account and database hosting), Stripe (payments), and Resend (account emails). We don't sell or share your data for advertising or any other purpose.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time using the contact details below.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict how it's used. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.
